Alexa Chung for Madwell Fall 2010: My Favorites

(source: tfs)

Ohh yummy. I love that each tastythread in this collection can be worn and you can make it into your own style if your not 100% into the preppy Alexa Chung-vibe. So so practical. Can have everything in sizes UK 6/8  please? :)

Butch Walker - Mixtape (acoustic)
This song takes me back to 2004/2005, I used to play this song non-stop. I believe this video is the actual bootleg version of the song I used to listen to on my ipod. I'd put this song on mix cds and give them to friends. I guess I still make mixes.....only its on a blog now.

C'mon Rude Boi, Can U Get It Up?

(source: moi :)
Here are some scans from my scrapbook, I made a while back. It's on Josh Hartnett's costumes outfits from his movie August. As you can read if you click the scans, I was uber excited when I wrote this, haha! His character is pretty badass in an annoying but sexy way.
Remember to click the scans for a larger view!

Rihanna - Rude Boy
Most of Rihanna's new record is pretty medicore, except for this one and Fire Bomb. But it wasn't until recently, that I realized how awesome Rude Boy actually is. It's a bit of sneaky fucker. At first your not really impressed, but then you still sing a long....and next thing you know you love it. Well, that's how it was for me anyway. Also, I seem to have this thing where whenever a song I like or feel lukewarm about becomes a single, I instantly love it (again)! So werid, am I being brainwashed? I bet there's a musicology term for this.'s the video as its pretty cool too.

2 Ways 2 Wear It

(source: le fashion, bleed for fashion)

One trendy item, two ways to wear it.

Shakira -Lo Hecho Esta Hecho (Did it Again Spanish Version)
she sounds sexier in spanish.
but i always seem to sing a long to this version in english.

the boy gets tanned

Don't you love it when you come back to school/uni/work/town (wherever) after the Summer holidays and all the boys are adorably tanned? I always loved the first weeks of September in high school :)

Leona Naess - Charm Attack
So so lovely. Every girl knows a boy like she describes in this song.

oh LoVe...that's Logan & Veronica to those who aren't Veronica Mars dorks.

damn gurl!

(source: studded hearts)
so damn perfect, head to toe. kudos to miss. moss (& stylist?)!

Muse - Uno
Brilliant, brilliant song. I basically see this song as a rock'n'roll tango. A-maaaaaaazing. I remember when I was younger this song was featured in a perfume ad, don't remember when....sometime in the last 11 years? Does anyone remember which one it was? Maybe those who live in France are more likely to know?? (I was brought up in French part of Switzerland)

yea, that's right:

(source: wizzystyle via justjared)

she's with the band.

Eagle-Eye Cherry - Are you Having Fun? (live @ All Star Lottery Show)
I'm bringing you guys back to the early 2000s, remember this?...this song is still super awesome. Super catchy. He's like a pop-ier Lenny Kravitz. I love how the guitar in this song brings the rock'n'roll-ness to this song and that its so sing-a-longy.

leather & jeans....garage glamourous.

Yesterday night I watched this indie movie called Lie With Me, it was quite sexually graphic, the type of thing you'd only see in European movies (it was a low-budget US movie). I really liked it thought. Once you got past the nudity and sex, you saw there was a story there. And the film is quite beautiful in how it captures the characters. That's what I've always liked about indie movies. It really leaves you time to reflect on the scenes, characters, etc. And you really feel like its authentic to life, or at least more then your usual bullshit moneymakin' hollywood movies. Well check it out if you can. It also features Feist & Broken Social Scene - Lover Spit, which is a beautiful heartbreaking song (that I actually discovered when I watched one of my favorite movies Half Nelson).
Anyway.... :P

this is a video of birds flocking in eastbourne (near brighton...woot!). usually i don't care for that kinda shit really. but with this song in the kinda creates a moment.
Broken Social Scene ft. Feist - Lover Spit

Uh Huh Her - I See Red
....just like this song.

hoodie  (source:

hoodies are totally up there on my list of favorite things. their just so comfy. there's just this great comfort about covering your head, and hands (the pockets) in one item, especially in the Winters. Okay, okay + this guy is hot.

Alison Iraheta - Friday I'll Be Over You
Rock influenced Bubblegum Pop. Your typical Max Martin song. If this song isn't in your head by Friday, I'll be uber-suprised.

(source: lia's tumblr)
If this isn't your first time reading my blog, then you'll know of my BIG love for Miss. Kitty Purry. It's her tongue in cheek personality and her politically incorrect humour that wins my heart. The second thing, and its a v. important second, her 50s pin-up style & goofy threads reminds me that wearing clothes is supposed to be about having fun!

Below is a page I did on my scrapbook just before 'I Kissed A Girl' became huge worldwide...I think June/July 2008?
Am I the only person who thinks that song is a classic Pop song?

(click picture to enlarge)

Katy Perry - Cup Of Coffee
Another of my millions reason why I ABSOLUT(e)ly love Katy P: I truly believe she's a lyrical genius.
Okay, maybe not genius. But she's is a very very rare lyricst in the POP songwriting community. She makes all kinds of ordinary themes like; love FRESSSH again. This song is a PERFECT example. A song about a break up. Called Cup of Coffee. Listen to this brillance :P

Mad 4 U: YSL

(source: liastumblr)

Number ONE on my wishlist.

Pearl Jam - The Fixer
ooooowwwh! I like this. Rock'n'roll & catchy (my favorite combination). V. Kings of Leon, I think. Or are the new Kings of Leon v. Pearl Jam? I have no idea. I never really got into old Pearl Jam. But I sure like the new Pearl Jam.

Fashion Week Favorites

(source: knightcat, littlefashionbird, studded hearts)
Kinda bummed because I wasn't very impressed with Fashion Week. Although they were some occasional stuff that showed up and I liked...overall was not really lovin' anything. Anyway, above are some of the looks that I felt lukewarm about....

How did YOU feel about Fashion Week?

From top left: jill stuart, diesel, rebecca taylor and proenza schouler Fall 2010

Florence And The Machine - You've Got The Love (The XX Remix)

Phoenix - Rome (Neighbours with Devendra Banhart remix)
Simply lovely remix.

the poncho's cooler brother

(source: tfs)
pretty and understated.

Ida Maria - Morning Light
good song about hangovers.

redheads with style, brought to you by Vanessa Jackman

(source: vanessa jackman)

In the UK, redheads (their known as gingers over there) are quite discriminated against, and frequently the butt of jokes. I never fully understood this harshness, I mean I'm all for harmless fun humour but come on. Especially, when I can see so much beauty in redheads sometimes. And hey, if they have awesome style what's there to laugh about?

Butterfly Boucher - Bright Red
Absolutely love this song. A little overplayed in my ipod, but thought it was essential to share!

working girl

(source: all

I am currently, looking for jobs at the moment. These outfits are more Summer-oriented but are still quite inspiring .

Mary J. Blige - Work That (live @ Later with Jools Holland)
This song is the bizness. Its so uplifting.

(sources: wizzystyle, ifyouseekstyle, friendinfashion)

the lyrics will make u blush. and music make u dance.

when a simple outfit rules.

The Cardigans - I Need Some Fine Wine And You, You Need To Be Nicer
I love this song! One of my fave faves, definetly in my top 40 fave songs of all time. She just sounds so fiesty in this song, I love a gurl who speaks her mind with attitude, especially in song :)

bad gal

more than anything, i love the warm colours: burgundy/maroon and the brown. and of course the fedora.

mindy smith - bad guy

S.W.L.G.I (She Would Look Good In...)

(source: knightcat)

Firstly, I'd like to apologise for the terrible terrible photoshop lol.
We all know its FASHION WEEK. Funnily enough, I haven't found anything that I adore.....
Until now.
Okay, its not amazing but I still really love it. It has that wow! factor.
It's from JILL STUART's collection. And then I thought....who would look good in this?
The first person I thought of was Gwen Stefani, hello? Plaid. hello? rockin' thigh high boots. But then I thought..... Taylor Momsen (tastythreads girl of the moment) would be just as eligible. In fact Jill Stuart herself said that she would LOVE. LOVE to style none other then Miss Taylor Momsen herself. Whoa? Outa all the celebrities?!
Well it does make perfect sense, it would be a match made in heaven.
I hope they DO an awesome rockin fashion spread oh PLEASE PLEASE!
I'd be the first to post it.

Death From Above 1979 - Blood On Our Hands (Justice Remix)
This is my favorite song & remix from one of my fave bands. Also, I think this song is perrrrrfect for this post. It's dirty and pretty rockin'.

go alexa, go!

wow wow wow!
check out Alexa Chung's collaboration with madwell...amazing. GOSH, I love her style...its as if she's selling her own clothes from her closet. Alexa Chung Style lovers you will D.I.E.

(yes, i'm a little lazy to make my own post, but it would pretty much be the same as the one on knightcat' whats the point? BUT I will post some favorites sometime in the future.)

vanessa jackman photography/ blog

(source: vanessa jackman blog)

I've been bloglovin' this awesome photographer recently, and I just picked out all my favorites of hers (there's so many!) Here name is Vanessa Jackman, and you can check her blog out here!

1) love that waist belt that cinches that pretty white sweater dress. so simple, so pretty.
2) Love the silvery jewelery, especially the braclet.
3) like the Kate Moss vibe of this outfit: effortlessly stylish, its got that "i don't try to be stylish...i just am."
4) fabulo-so flowery print jacket?dress?. i'm salivating regardless. something Carrie Bradshaw would adore!
5) This outfit is so fashion victim! Too much trends in one!! (wow) - but somehow, it totally frickin' works.
6) black jumpsuit + killer shoes = dopeness.
7) ALL the essentials: denim shorts, boyfriend blazer, practical hippie bag.  cherry on top? floral doc marteens.

more vanessa jackman photos soon.....

Passion Pit - Eyes As Candles
fun! fun! i wanna dance naked to this song lol. okay maybe not naked.

A couple that dress well together! Duh.

Kings of Leon - Use Somebody

Zooey Deschanel & Katy Perry
or is it
Katy Perry & Zooey Deschanel?

Just kidding. I can tell the difference, pffft.

Btw: Super cute dress on Katy Perry!

Chew Lips - Slick
i'm getting into this one. i like how you kinda get a sense of maybe how it was composed. like maybe it started as a piano-driven song, then they added the synths. its a pleasure to listen to.

S.W.L.G.I (She Would Look Good In...)

chloë sevigny. would look good in:
