Favorite Outfits of the Week

(source: jaglever,,, pepperandchips)

1) This outfit seems pretty average, but look closer and you'll see she is wearing a Morrissey tee :) & ankle booties which are opened toed with studds on the front. It just gives it that special-ness.
2) Taylor Momsen is currently my fashion inspiration of the moment. I love her gothic influence, its very emo but in a sexy Family Adams type of way instead of cheap Hot Topic kinda way (no offesnse. that store does have a couple cute items).  In this outfit I love how she mixed baby blue, with a black lace cardigan and finished it with red wine coloured lips.
3) Simple and rock 'n'roll. Perfect for a rock concert. I'd probably ditch the ankle booties though.
4) I adooooore this outfit. Very femme fatale. She looks like a spy from the 1930s, those raybans rule. Similarly to Taylor Momsen (# 2), she's working the red wine lips. I really like the contrast of the lip colour with the satin beige shirt.  To finish off black platform pumps. wow.

The Pretty Reckless - Blender

Pump it

(source: vanillascented)
my heart aches to own something this gorgeous! I wonder if their painful to wear?

Christina Aguilera - Lift Me Up
one her most emotional & best performances in a while. out of the WHOLE Haiti event, this is the song that gave me the chills, and still does.

red lips

(source: liatumblrs)

what perfect little outfit. lovin' the red lips and blush, the make-up makes this outfit!

Dylan & The Movies - Josephine If You Only Knew

nice and pretty, just like the pictures above :)

sweet obsession

Alexa Chung @ Chanel Spring/Summer 2010 Haute Couture Show. Dope nail polish & necklases/pins.

soooooooooo pretty

(source: polyvore)
I adooooore this outfit. This is the kinda outfits i'm into lately. Pretty, with streaks grunge, vintage-y lady-like accesories. V. Alexa Chung I might add.

Two Door Cinema Club - Cigarettes In the Theatre
Sounds like good summer times. That guitar riff is such a  s!ck hook! I think this band has done it again (put this song on repeat).

STrictly music-post: holy sh*t this is good

THE LOW-DOWN: So i have many things to thank Perez Hilton for, mostly for discovering Katy Perry (one of my faves) almost 2 years before I Kissed A Girl even aired on the US radio (!)...And recently I have him to thank for Mike Posner.
If you like Kid Cudi and/or Justin Timberlake, you'll probably like this: its Pop with a mix of Hip-Hop/R'n'B. His name is Mike Posner he sings, writes and produces his own beats. And yeah, his songs are pretty damn good. He just got signed recently last year, and I must say I'm pretty good at predicting success in Pop music and I think this dude's gonna be huge this year. Posner's already released 2 Mixtapes which you can get for FREE legally on the internet (itunes, google it etc). Definetly worth a listen! His lyrics & beats are equally awesome.
To find out more about his story check out the interview he did with PEREZ HILTON here.

THE SONGS: My favorite songs at the moment...

Still Not Over You (Feat. Eric Holljes)
This one samples The Fray's Over My Head. This one is my fave of the favorites @ the moment...the breakdown gives me chills
I Don't Trust Myself
Yes, he samples a whole lot, but he does it SO well. This song is 'inspired' by John Mayer's own I Don't Trust Myself, but of course Mike Posner adds his own flavour.
Drug Dealer Girl
Hot. I think this is his most popular song.

scruffy clothes & a designer bag.

Vampire Weekend - White Sky

really like the rock & African mix. something my parents and i could probably listen to, with neither of us asking to turn it down. Afro-Punk they call it?

Date With The Night
This is a perfect date outfit for a dude. It looks like he made an effort, and its not too over the top quirky. Nicely done.

Your Twenties - Billionare

I love me some indie pop. feels gooood.

i just can't get enough

(source: unknown, stylesights, alice in wardrobe wonderland)

Favorite Outfit of the Week

(source: littlefashionbird)

This week, I've decided to be a little stingy and chose only one favourite outfit. This particular outfit although almost all black (check out the nails!) is definitely not boring. It's casual, comfy and its got a little edge - that leather jacket with a bit of fur, purrfection. And with a Starbucks in hand who could ever resist? (I hope that's vanilla latte ;)

Temper Trap - Fader

Just lovely.

longsleeve dresses CAN be sexy

(sources: glamouruk)

Now whoever said longsleeves are unsexy?!
Sometimes less is more, and who frickin better (i can't help but swear sometimes) to demonstrate then Miss. Alexa Chung - nobody, that's my answer. She makes both these longsleeve dresses look elegant and fresh 'n' youthful. Her secret ingredent? Adding rockin' accessories. For a youthful kinda edge she went with ankle boots! And for a cutesy vintage feel, she went for sweet accessories like a pretty clutch, and pendant necklases.

Shelby Sifers - Are You Devo (The Spirituals Remix)
I picked this song, cause I figured Miss. Chung herself might like it too. Now, I don't know the girl but I sense that the quirky vocals and music, including the indie cred might spark interest.

essential: denim. denim

The Shirts:
(source: pepper and chips, fashioncanvas,

The Jackets...
(source: elle,, unknown)

the best item to casual-fiy (yes, of course I made that up) an outfit.

Weezer - I'm Your Daddy
I never really understood the whole sexual kinkiness of calling your parent partner/boy/girlfriend your parent.
Its werid and too Freudian. No thank you.
But apart from the kinky-Freudian title, this song is your typical cutesy Weezer song. Lovin' it.

soft whispers

My favorite look of the moment.

Boat Beam  - The Rain Pauly

Favorite Outfits of (last) Week

(source: all from elle)

1.Nice head to toe black and white outfit. I usually prefer at least a little colour in my outfit. But this outfit is so perfect, colour is unnecessary. Its simple, yet trendy and sophisticated. Great for evening wear.

2.This is definitely my favourite among the favourites. Its easy and looks uber-comfortable. Also other parts of the outfit that make it so special are: the long floral cardigan, the tie-dye back and the beat-up brown boots. Each item looks like they were bought from completely different stores. My favourite part of this is the body jewelery she's wearing (its not too clear but you can perhaps see some silver wear on top of her t-shirt).

3.So pretty. Florals with lots of black gives this outfit a nice edge. I think knee high socks can be so sexy! And this outfit proves that. And the ray bans give it a nice cool finish. Perfect for spring...

Does It Offend You, Yeah? - Dawn of The Dead
The sun was out today and almost all the snow melted away. Made me think of spring. So does this song.

B. My Rock'n'Roll Queen

(source: unknowns, lastfm)
I can't believe it's taken me this long to proclaim my love for this woman. I made this collage a little while ago, when I was visualizing my dream rock band and then POW! I discover Elevator Fight, Zoe Kravitz' band. And the first thing I could think of when I discovered this band was..."Damn you Zoe! I have no purpose now?!" But of course that isn't entirely true. Every band has their own style and this band doesn't incompass everything I ever dreamed for my future band. So, it's Okay. E.F is grungy, experimental, rock 'n' roll. Their still in their early stages and developing their sound, so i'm looking forward to see/hear what they come up with in 2010.

The Frontwoman:

The Band:
Additional evidence to support the awesomeness of Z.Kravitz & Elevator Fight:

Check out their songs @

P.S: A little self-promotion here...if you want to check out my music; its acoustic, laidback and just me at the moment. CHECK IT OUT here! :)

ode to silver jewelry

(source: fashion canvas, unknown )

If you've been following this blog from the beginning. You will probably know that silver jewelery is one of my favourites! I love how classy it can make an outfit. But I love it even more when mixed with grungy items like shredded tights and big sweaters. The picture on the right is a favourite as well, the layers! the simplicity and the femininity. Beautiful.

FrankMusik - 3 Little Words

I give in, I give in! You know the kinda songs that your "supposed to" obviously like? They can be such a turn-off sometimes. Like this one. Its got the whole electro-indie-pop thing. Super catchy synth, the works. I tried to resist....but I couldn't. Too delicious.

simple & comfy

(source: fashioncanvas)
Perfect outfit for the weather here in Switzerland. Just zip it up and add beanie & scarf. So effortless and easygoing.

The Killers - This Is Your Life

I can't believe i missed out on this track the first time I listened to the last Killers album. Total DOH! moment (that was a Simpsons reference btw).

(source: newborn hippy, unknown, lovetheveronicas, unknown)
I adore tights. Above are other alternatives to opaque tights:

Taylor Momsen's suspenders - Super-Sexy! This one is for the daring Lol. I must say it would be hard to pull off if your a) not a rockstar b) hooker c) tranny. But hey! I would think about wearing them for a night with the gays.
Now, I know the girls "only 16" and even thought I do find some of her clothes questionable for her age. I do tend to remind myself that when I was her age or even younger, I was fashionably allowed a lot of freedom. And so it dawns on me that I'm being kinda hypocritical. However, I never wore suspenders even at 18! Lol.

Kate Moss's fishnets - What I love about these tights...similar to the suspenders is that they can be regarded quite slutty. But if paired with a tomboyish items for example; a white shirt (like Momsen), or a green parka and cowboy boots (like Moss) it looks more like a fashion statement or quirky style.

Jess Origlasso's stripy tights - Love these. Because her shorts are black, wearing tights that are half sheer and half opaque keep the whole outfit interesting without being too much. There are also cute heart tights and dot tights that have become really popular recently.

Benji Hughes - You Stood Me Up

This artist is so dope. The beginning of this song sounds real old skool 90s R'n'B/Hip-Hop and the rest reminds me loads of Weezer; musically and vocally. Random, but it works. MUST.CHECK.IT.OUT!

P.S: Oops! Didn't know it stops before it ends...check out his stuff on his myspace HERE

she's so chic!

(source: all from Thatschic)

My blog girl of the moment: Raych from That's Chic.

Why I like her & her blog: Raych has a great ability to make an (almost) all black outfit awesomely fresh and young. Trust me, that is not an easy feat. Her outfits are so well put together, without looking too thoughtout.
She has also uploaded some sweet-ass vlogs (that's video blogs) with her buddy Ted. And they are both so hilarious, and have such good chemistry together. Unfortunately, Raych doesn't seem to like doing them so much (too bad for us). At least we get to feast our eyes on her incredible fashion sense - this girl is truly chic.

p.s: hey raych, someone else made a collage of you! :)

Little Boots - New In Town (Fred Falke Remix)

couple du jour: the rocker & the hippie

(source: fashiongrungestyle)
hello, almost famous?
Love how they have they have their individual own style.
The punk & the hippie.

Mystery Jets (feat. Laura Marling) - Young Love

super cute. listen to the lyrics, i love the story. you can toally visualize it.

pretty chillah

pretty chillah

I'll be stocking on these for this Summer. And listening to this while doing it:
Train - Hey, Soul Sister

"I'm Yours" Part 2?...Hey it's got a good chorus anyway.

punk rock dreams

This Providence - Selfish
I love how rock'n'roll & dirty (distortion.woop.) this song is...yummy.

scrapbook part TROIS

(source: moi)
Another lovely page out of my scrapbook...this is one of my favorite pages.
The first half is on my cravings for fake-diamonds rhinestones: I went through a phase of wearing fake-diamond looking necklases like the one Jess Origlasso from The Veronicas is wearing (the blonde with the green jacket, top left) with rocker tees. I still love that look.
The bottom half is...An Ode to Chole Sevigny. I think pretty much every fashionista can appreciate Miss. Sevigny's style. I've had an eye on her style for a couple years now, so it was great fun to put together some of my favorite outfits of hers.
Bonus: she happened to be wearing Morrissey tees in two of them :)

P.S: remeber to click picture, to enlarge. Or click here

Morrissey - Let Me Kiss You
I've always liked this song. I totally appreciate how Morrissey can write such beautifully depressing songs. He brings out the emo girl in me.

Feminine Tomboy

I think one of the hottest things in the world is a beautiful girl that hang with the guys, and dress like one of the guys. the attraction is undeniable. I don't care how straight I am I truly believe that althougth we all have our preferences, there is no doubt in my mind that we can all be physically attracted to either sex. That's just my opinion. But enough social-psychology babble (i can't help it, it was my degree subject!)

Converse/Vans, boyfriend blazers, beanies and hoodies are the essential pieces for this look. The cherry on top is minimal make-up; think pink lipgloss and rosy or bronzer blush.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Down Boy
This song is f*ucking sexy.

candy stripes

(source: studdedhearts)

There may be shit loads of snow outside but that won't stop me from thinking about beach time & swimsuits.

Timbaland feat. Katy Perry
i will never be immune to ridiculously-crafted delicious bubblegum pop! i hear this will be the next single, i think this one could be a stellar hit.

to the max-i

(source: boubouteatime)
When you think maxi skirt, the first thing that pops into mind is hippie (okay, well i do anyways). But i really like how this outfit makes the maxi skirt look sophisticated and fashion forward. Nice.

Britt Nicole - Safe

Beautiful voice and beautifully vulnerable song. I guess that's my thing this week.

sloppiness works for me

(source: tfs)
a girl after my own heart...messy hair, too big for her clothes - and she's french. I always feel really weird when I'm real put together, it just doesn't feel right. lol. what do y'all think?

The Script - Break even
Lyrically (and musically), this song is too awesome. Its the kind you play over and over and over again.

red lips, rock tee and a pretty blouse.

(source: fashion canvas)

I Blame CoCo ft. Robyn- Caesar
Coco Sumner has kinda been lurking everywhere from blogs to fashion mags. But apart from being photogenic and unintentionally stylish, Sting's daughter actually writes some fairly good songs. Thanks to my daily blog read Rich Hippie, I was able to discover this:

Favorite Outfits of the Week

(source: lovemore, elle, stardust and sequins)

i love these outfits!!

1) I've seen this outfit in pretty much every blog, but you got admit: it's pretty awesome! i think its the mix of the hint of purple blazer and the lepoard that gives it that ooooh factor. and of course that badass hair style that i really love workin' myself!

2) boyfriend tee shirt, bandage skirt and a leather jacket. you really can't go wrong. great going outfit.

3) this outfit is total badass. i don't think a lot of people would dare to looks like something that could easily work for a photoshoot or a crazy night out full of tequila shots ;) i like.

i <3 collages!

bralet by tastythreads featuring TopShop

source: my collage from polyvore

my first collage! i'm pretty happy with it, its dedicated to bralets, bustiers...basically things that should be under clothes, but I think they shouldn't! Their so pretty :) To keep it from looking slutty its best to wear with casual distressed denim shorts or high-waist shorts or skirt, with a lovely cosy cardigan. I know its not exactly Winter wear, but I just got back from 35 degrees celcius weather...I'm still re-adjusting :P

Kane - Catwalk Criminal

A Dutch band I discovered on the plane back from Tanzania.
